Hi, It's been a long time since I posted anything here on my own blogs or, indeed, on the internet. I do more sourcing and reading nowadays. I've noticed over at the UK workshop they have had the same problem I have had with our Axminster-bought power tools. In Particual AWEBDS610 belt and combined disc sander, Particularly timing belts, with no joy or HELP from Axminster Tools.
Well, more is needed; many of us spend a lot of money on tools there.
So, I spent a lot of time searching. As soon as I saw this machine, I knew what it was or what it had been; it's badged now as RIKON 50-120 BELT DISC SANDER, all belts and discs the same size.
I thought about it for some time, constantly checking the photo with the belt size position of the sanding disc and its size. I finally decided that I was right. It was the same machine, so off went an order; by now, I had found them on eBay, ordered them, arrived today some 12 days later, and YES, SPOT ON it fitted perfectly, NOT near nuff that will do, but perfectly as the pics show.
My favourite go-to first machine (I OWNED IT FOR SOME 17 YEARS). The only thing that went wrong was the timing belt ended up in a pile of dust. It was worth saving; it was costly with the postage from the USA. But worth it. Hope this is of help to the other owners of this machine. Don't give up. I could not scrap an entire machine or justify the price of a new replacement for the cost of a few pounds to replace a mear timing /drive belt. Axminster, what are you thinking of? Over the years, your after-sales have been worth more to us, knowing if we needed help, it was always there. Do we need to start buying elsewhere?.
